Idan Raichel Project

I saw this Israeli band recently in Vancouver, thanks to a patient who bought me tickets :).

I almost didn't go because I was busy and tired, but then the gentlemen playing the piano (Idan Raichel) just happened to walked by the Cafe I was in and made brief eye contact with me through the window, so I thought “That settles that.”

This band is an example of the wonder of modern Israel: the project has involved 95 musicians from Europe, Columbia, Ethiopia, Arab countries, Yemen, Sudan, etc….it truly reflects the multi-cultural complexity of Israel, and the vibrant creativity of its reborn culture. Live the Project is simply amazing, incredibly high quality musicianship from people who obviously love playing together.
